No Tricks, All Treats!

October 31, 2010 marks our little goblin's first trick or treat experience. I wanted so badly to take her out last year but I don't think that lugging around a 4 week old baby in the cold is a valid method of getting free candy. However, lugging around a 13 month old baby in an Ewok costume was 100% legit and Brent and I took full advantage! Here is a peak at what our sweet Lilli looked like as an Ewok.

I made sure to include an Ewok colored bow to indicate her not so obvious gender.

We got inspired to turn her into a strange little woodland creature when we slipped her into her reindeer outfit from last Christmas. It was far too big for her last year (a size 6 month) so I pulled it out this fall and it fit her perfectly! Thank goodness she is the size of a 6 month old or else I would have had to BUY her a NEW costume-Heaven forbid!! As we watched her toddle around in that snug, fuzzy suit we realized she had a striking resemblance to an Ewok. So a couple of ears (sewed over the reindeer antlers) and an orange hooded thing later and wah-lah!! Here are some photos of her on her trick or treating excursion around our neighborhood.

Pretty soon it was getting dark and frigid out. I wanted to press on to get as much loot as possible but sensible Brent reminded me that "Lilli was no longer having any fun and since trick or treating is about her we should head home". He was right since we already had more candy than the 3 of us should eat anyway. We let Lilli dig right into the candy when we got home and she was in Heaven!!

4 or 5 candy bars later we had one very tuckered out toddler who didn't make a peep when I laid her in her crib. Trick or Treating 1.0 was a great success and I cannot wait until next year (for more free candy, of course).
